Stage Shows

At Fun Corporate Magic, we want you to have the best show experience. So we are providing you with the best practices to make sure the show goes smoothly.

LOAD IN AND LOAD OUT SCHEDULE

  • Matias is to arrive 1-3 hours before the event (or as early as needed) prior to performance time.
  • Please have the venue ready and available at these times.
  • When necessary, all special loading and parking instructions as well as required loading and parking passes will need to be provided no later than 3 days prior to the event. These should be emailed to Matias and his booking coordinator.
  • A parking spot should be provided as close to the venue as possible if street parking is not available in the premises.

PERFORMANCE AREA

  • For larger groups, ideal performance area is at least 20 ft. x 16 ft. deep, and at least 2 ft. high (for visibility).
  • For smaller groups, please leave a performance area in front of the group.
  • Ideal room temperature between 59-95 Degrees Fahrenheit at the performance time.
  • If performance is on a stage, seating should not extend past the front row of the stage or wrap around the stage.
  • Please have a small table (rectangular, 4ft long preferably) available on stage.

STAGE BACKGROUND

  • For stage performances, background should NOT be plain white, as a plain white background makes it difficult to see the stage effects. Background should be black or dark colored so that the props show up well to the audience.
  • If the stage area has mirrors, please let us know to take the necessary steps.

LIGHTING & SPECIAL EFFECTS

  • Professional stage lights are encouraged but not required.
  • If there are no stage lights available, then the performance area must be well lit for the audience to properly see the show.
  • Stage background should be lit so that performer/props are highly visible (two lighting trees directed to either side of stage may be necessary).
  • General whitewash can be used during performance.
  • When professional lighting is available, please have a lighting technician available at the venue/performance area no later than 2 hours prior to Matias’ show.
  • Please note that for some stage performances Matias uses two (2) indoor cold sparkling machines.

MEDIA SCREEN (optional)

  • Please have 1-2 large TV screens on each side of the stage (or a projector if media screens are not available) or above head height center stage. (Please let Matias know what type of cables the projector uses and how far the projector is from the stage).
  • Please provide an HDMI connection so that Matias can connect his laptop to the screen.
  • If a screen is not available, please let us know. In some local shows within the New York area, Matias might bring a large TV Screen if the performance requires so.

AUDIENCE LAYOUT

  • Audience must be seated DIRECTLY in front of stage or performance area.
  • For a better show, audience should also NOT be positioned on either side of the stage.

Stage Shows

SOUND SYSTEM (For parties of 25+ guests)

  • Microphone

    • Appropriate voice amplification must be provided for the performance. We suggest a headset if possible. Otherwise, a lavaliere mic is fine.
    • Matias can provide his own wireless headset microphone (with Sure/Sennheiser connections) when a headset or lavaliere is not available. Should plug in to soundboard via XLR cable.
    • Please provide 1-2 wireless microphone and 2 mic stands on each side of the stage.
  • Music Capability

    • Please provide a 1/8” /3.5mm Auxiliary Input Cable that can be plugged into a computer to play music during the show.
**THIS CORD MUST BE POSITIONED ON SIDE OF STAGE (Not in the back of the room)
  • Sound technician present during performance to monitor levels (if available).
  • If Matias is to provide sound system (additional fee may apply), you agree to the following provisions:
    • Provide access to the venue 3-12 hours prior to show time for set up.
    • Provide stable electrical power (3-independent 110 volt@ 20 amps circuits).
    • Provide the power source within 10 ft. of the stage area.

POWER ACCESS

  • Venue must provide 2 power outlet on stage or an extension cord.

SAFE PROP/EQUIPMENT STORAGE

  • Client/venue should provide a safe & secure room in which to store performer’s equipment when not in use. This would also serve as a “green room”/preparation room for the performer.

TECH RUN-THROUGH & SET-UP TIME

  • Client must allow at least 90-120 minutes of access to stage / technical crew for talent to perform tech-run through to test lighting, sound, live video (if necessary) and work with tech staff.
  • Please have sound/lighting technician available at this time.

DRESSING ROOM OR GREEN ROOM

  • For Stage show performances one appropriate dressing room is to be provided as close to the performance area as possible, with lock and key that only Matias and his team will have access to during his performance.
  • This private area should have large mirrors (preferably), rack/hangers to hang clothes, good lighting, clean and clear of all traffic.
  • Throughout the run of the show, only necessary personnel will be allowed backstage. All others should stay clear of the backstage area. This includes presenters, promoters, and janitorial staff. Thank you for your cooperation.
  • Please Provide Matias with a bottle of water and hand towels.
  • For longer wait, please add proper snacks or healthy food (no pork).

  • You may only use official photos/videos provided by Matias and his team, and adhere to the following for any and all promotional material: Matias Letelier, Illusionist & Mentalist
